Compassion

Write a kind note or make a treat for someone who is sad.

Help a classmate with his or her homework.

Work

Set a goal. Do something every day this month to help you reach your goal.

Help your parents make dinner.

Optimism

Make a list of 10 happy things in your life.

Smile at everyone you see.

Before and After

A great habit to get into when you read a verse of scripture is to read the verse before and after it. Exodus 31:16

15 Six days may work be done;
16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. (Old Testament, Exodus 31)

Markers

Markers are placed in the water to direct one where on the lake to be or even not to go.  Even a disoriented or an experienced swimmer can attest in a huge lake that eyeing a marker is vital and important to maintain. Let us be aware of life's markers placed before us, and follow them.

A Dive

Your perspective surely changes swimming in the mass of a lake compared to the public pool. Especially in my condition.

Then for every two strokes of my attempt to get back to the boat, the boat bobbed away by three or four waves.  I remained while the boat carried.  

My daughter, a rope, and my life jacket preserved and sustained me or I would not have reached the boat. I was at a point completely helpless.  

So much of this rings true of what our Savior can do for each of us in life; sometimes helpless along the way, then he will carry us.

Focus

In this Dive of topic: focus.  Ponder your purpose of becoming perfected.  We can only attain perfection by increasing our faith and focal points of life.  Discipline is a key ingredient.
