Move Mountains

30 For the brother of Jared said unto the mountain Zerin, Remove—and it was removed. And if he had not had faith it would not have moved; wherefore thou workest after men have faith.

Ether 12: above

I like how candid this verse is.  "Oh, mountain Zerin, Remove", said Jared. I don't see an explanation point, or emphasis.  It happened by simple, honest, and sincere faith.  Such desire we each should have, with any desire, we have in desiring something or anything.  For the simple promise from God, "I workest after your faith".

Hope Our Anchor

“4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.”

Ether 12:

This is a great verse.  Our faith can give us power. An anchor!

Feast

3 "Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for the...words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.”
2 Nephi 32:

Who wouldn't want to read the scriptures, with this promise?

Echoing

A great way to learn scriptures is using the technique call "echoing".  You take a Bible verse, and then find a similar one in the Book of Mormon. The concept in the verses, sound one to another- expanding scriptural, spiritual insight.

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
Matthew 1:

“14 And it came to pass that my father, Lehi, also found upon the plates of brass a genealogy of his fathers; wherefore he knew that he was a descendant of Joseph; yea, even that Joseph who was the son of Jacob, who was sold into Egypt, and who was preserved by the hand of the Lord, that he might preserve his father, Jacob, and all his household from perishing with famine.
15 And they were also led out of captivity and out of the land of Egypt, by that same God who had preserved them.
16 And thus my father, Lehi, did discover the genealogy of his fathers. And Laban also was a descendant of Joseph, wherefore he and his fathers had kept the records.”
1 Nephi 5:

Notice two connected concepts- "from the carrying away into" and "led out of captivity" preserved for his purposes.

Merging

A great way to study Isaiah to to associate verses to a gospel topic.  Like in family history.  Merging in FamilySearch is an important exercise to verify and authenticate individual sources. Doing this with Isaiah scriptures does this spiritually to the searcher of truth, like the searcher of his or her progenitors.

Take these two merged verses:

2 Nephi 27:

...the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest (family trees)..

attached with +

...and their joy shall be in the Lord (the promises you feel by doing family history).

Daily Labor

A daily labor should be approached with this type of attitude as a parent:

I Nephi 25:
23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God;

Another "me" Insertion

Ether 12:27; "My grace is sufficient for (me) all men who humble themselves (I humble myself).  And if ye (I humble) humble yourselves (myself) before me (you) and have faith in me (you have faith in me), then I will make weak things become strong unto them (you)."

Memories

A fun tool is the Memories app. through Family Search.  Add pictures, and you will instantly smile as you highlight and identify each person in a picture. Then you can expand your exercise by sharing your pictures with others.
