Alma 17: mention of Sebus-
"SEBUS may reflect a West Semitic root śbs “to gather, assemble (persons),” and could possibly mean “Place of Gathering” for water, flocks or people (PYH)."
And the place of dis-assembling of arms.
39 And when he had driven them afar off, he returned and they watered their flocks and returned them to the pasture of the king, and then went in unto the king, bearing the arms which had been smitten off by the sword of Ammon, of those who sought to slay him; and they were carried in unto the king for a testimony of the things which they had done.

A Missionary Being Set Apart- Alma
2 Who art thou? Suppose ye that we shall believe the testimony of one man, although he should preach unto us that the earth should pass away?
Alma 9
Alma could answer with power, his mission, and purpose.

Alma could answer with power, his mission, and purpose.
"And I stood with boldness to declare unto them, yea, I did boldly testify unto them, saying:
8 Behold, O ye wicked and perverse generation, how have ye forgotten the tradition of your fathers; yea, how soon ye have forgotten the commandments of God." cont...
" 21 Having been visited by the Spirit of God; having conversed with angels, and having been spoken unto by the voice of the Lord; and having the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and also many gifts, the gift of speaking with tongues, and the gift of preaching, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and the gift of translation;".

Spiritual Gifts
We receive glorious gifts of the spirit as detailed in Moroni chapter 10. “11 And to another, exceedingly great faith; and to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;” The use of them to bless others.

A Source
A great story about an angel is found in Daniel 6:10-23: an angel aiding Daniel-
10 ¶Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me:
Daniel's faith was very powerful. He surely had a thankful heart. He always expressed his thanks in his prayers. He sought for a greater light or a source for great vision.

"You who are familiar with the book of
Daniel know what happened next. Daniel asked Nebuchadnezzar for a little
extra time, and he and his faithful companions went to the source of their
faith and moral strength. They prayed to God and asked for divine help
at this crucial moment in their lives. And “then was the secret revealed
unto Daniel in a … vision.”3
Daniel, the young boy from a
conquered nation—who had been bullied and persecuted for believing in
his strange religion—went before the king and revealed to him the dream
and its interpretation.
From that day on, as a direct
result of his faithfulness to God, Daniel became a trusted counselor to
the king, renowned for his wisdom in all of Babylon.
The boy who believed and lived his faith had become a man of God. A prophet. A prince of righteousness.4

Stamped
When Joseph Fielding Smith was eight years old, his father gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon and asked him to read it. "I received this Nephite record with thanksgiving," he later recalled, "and applied myself to the task which had been assigned to me." His love for the book motivated him to get his chores done quickly and sometimes even leave baseball games early so he could find quiet places to read. In less than two years after receiving the gift from his father, he read the book twice. Of that early study, he later said, "There are certain passages that have been stamped upon my mind and I have never forgotten them." (See Joseph Fielding Smith Jr. and John J. Stewart, The Life of Joseph Fielding Smith (1972), 57.)
What passages of scripture have been "stamped upon my mind"? This one:
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20

Packets Of Light
Elder Richard G. Scott said "Scriptures are like packets of light that illuminate our minds and give place to guidance and inspiration from on high".

A Dad's Response
A Dad wrote this in response to my last post:
A loving father rejoicing over his son's desire to follow the ministry. It must have brought great joy to Mormon to see his own son, Moroni to be a faithful disciple of the Lord. Especially after Mormon seeing his own people reject the Lord's will and be utterly destroyed.

From these verses:
“2 My beloved son, Moroni, I rejoice exceedingly that your Lord Jesus Christ hath been mindful of you, and hath called you to his ministry, and to his holy work.
3 I am mindful of you always in my prayers, continually praying unto God the Father in the name of his Holy Child, Jesus, that he, through his infinite good”
