"Pondering the scriptures regularly—rather than reading them occasionally—can substitute a superficial understanding for a sublime, life-changing enhancement of our faith." April 2017, Foundations of Faith
Pondering the scriptures takes a little more effort than just reading them. Pondering has a purpose. Pondering has a set hour. It causes you to mark or highlight what you read. It causes you to reference other scriptural verses or even source materials. Your memory is intensified to remember what you study, to draw conclusions, or most important to find answers to your prayers.
A great way to enhance understanding what you have pondered. Is to write a question or series of questions of your study. For example:
Why is the sapphire stone mentioned in the antemortal appearance of Jesus Christ, Exodus 24:10?
Write 7 of these each month, then review and test yourself at the end of the month.
Excellent idea, I need to do more pondering of the scriptures.
